Be a stormwater hero, adopt a drain! OWU students, staff, faculty, and families are needed to soft launch a volunteer-based program in which any person can agree to do a biweekly clean up on and around a storm drain of their choosing within Delaware City. The Adopt-a-Drain program is Savannah Domenech’s ’25 small grant project and is a collaboration between the City of Delaware and Ohio Wesleyan University. Learn more and sign up at stormwater.owu.edu.
Some reasons to get involved are:
- Help reduce localized flooding
- Improve stormwater quality
- Improve community and neighborhood cleanliness
- Get involved in your local community
- Volunteer near a place important to you or a place that you frequent
Also, the first 144 people to adopt a drain will get a pair of Adopt-a-Drain gloves and all drains adopted will receive a special “I’m Adopted!” sticker.
