Information Services has partnered with uLearn to provide automatic online test proctoring via Blackboard Learn in a Google Chrome web browser.
In support of this roll-out, uLearn will be providing live, remote training on their service and its integration with Blackboard at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 6. You are welcome to join David Soliday in the IS conference room (Corns 114) to attend this training, (bring your own laptop,) or you may join the Zoom session from your own office or elsewhere.
It’s a different approach than the service we had previously, focusing on AI, rather than a human proctor. The automated uLearn system monitors face and eye movement, browser activity, and speech, alerting students when anything suspicious happens. The whole session is recorded, both screen capture and webcam feed with audio, and it adds bookmarks for each flag of questionable behavior. Instructors have the option to do live monitoring on their own, where it provides an overview of all test-takers with live warning/alert feed, and allows them to select any student to monitor individually, seeing either video feed (webcam or screen) live.
See https://owu.edu/ISProfDev for more information on the training session, and https://ulearn.io/ for more information on uLearn.
