The Bishop Way and Circle K will host a tabling event in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center Atrium from 12-1 p.m. April 24 handing out denim patches, denim day pins, and on-campus resources and informing the OWU community about Denim Day.
Established in 1999, Denim Day is the longest-running sexual violence prevention and education campaign in history. It was inspired by an act of solidarity after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans, which the justices felt the victim must have helped remove. The women of the Italian Parliament showed up to work the next day in jeans.
Join millions around the world and wear denim in solidarity with victims and survivors of sexual violence and as a protest against victim blaming and other myths surrounding sexual violence.
