Jemimah and I recently visited Montgomery, AL, to attend a conference called “Anarcha, Lucy, and Betsy: Day of Reckoning,” which brought awareness to inequities that Black women in America face from medical practitioners and systemically, particularly in childbirth. We will discuss our findings in an attempt to raise awareness of issues Black women in America face around maternal health and birthing.
