Join the Spanish Club for the Semana Santa Event cohosted with the CPB on the JAYwalk from 11 am to 1 pm on Wednesday, April 12. There will be free T-shirts, snacks, games, a mechanical bull, and an inflatable obstacle course! This is a great opportunity to relax and have some fun with your friends while still learning about Spanish holidays! Semana Santa is a holiday celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries that originated in Spain and occurs the week prior to Easter. The event was created by the Catholic Church to explain the story of the Passion of Christ to everyone involved in the community, religious or not. Throughout the week, different parts of the story behind the resurrection of Jesus are told through parades using floats and costumes.
