Join us April 1 for a special plaque dedication at Selby Stadium. We will honor Harriet Stewart during the 50th anniversary year of Title IX and acknowledge her vision and contributions as a leader and trailblazer in OWU women’s intercollegiate athletics. A role model from the 1950s to the 1980s, she was light years ahead of Title IX, opening doors and laying the groundwork for women to have opportunities to grow, lead, and flourish in women’s intercollegiate athletics and life, both then and into the future. In addition to the dedication, a variety of other events are planned, including a program featuring a keynote address by Nan Carney-DeBord, current student-athletes, alumnae, coaches, and more.
The schedule is listed below:
–10 am: Alumni Games, various locations.
–Noon: Plaque dedication at Selby Stadium.
–1 pm: Women’s athletics exhibit, Merrick Hall.
–1:30-3 pm: Celebration program and lunch, Merrick Hall, 3rd Floor.
