April 1 @ 12 p.m. – Food Acquisition and Agriculture in Cuba

Come join the NUTR 300.12 Global Food Systems class to talk about their Travel Learning experience to Cuba. Cuba has a complicated and often misunderstood history. The students will touch on early Spanish Colonization, the Cuban Revolution, the strained relationship with the United States, and how this history has affected Cubans today. The students will share their experiences and photos to demonstrate the struggle, or “la lucha,” that Cubans are facing by focusing on the current food system and how the recent oil blockade has further constrained day-to-day living.

There will be free food!
