April 15 @ 12 p.m. – Beyond Headlines: Conflicts Across African Regions Talk

Join us for Africa in the News: What Are We Missing in the Headlines? — a thought-provoking conversation exploring recent conflicts in different regions of Africa and how they are portrayed in global media. Together, we will examine what narratives are highlighted, what perspectives are often overlooked, and how these representations shape global understanding of the African continent.

We are honored to host Dr. Ousman Murzik Kobo, a Ghanaian-American historian at The Ohio State University and Director of the Center for African Studies. He will provide insight into the historical and social context behind these issues and guide a deeper discussion.

This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff. Come ready to listen, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversation.
