This program will allow a select group of students to combine classroom knowledge with real-world accounting research and application. Students will benefit from this program by participating in academic activities outside of the traditional classroom space, professional development activities and travel-learning experiences funded by the Woltemade Center.
Students will be evaluated on the following criteria by the selection committee for admittance into the Accounting Fellows program:
– Sophomore status as of the date of completing the application, but junior status applicants will be accepted and evaluated based on special circumstances;
– Declared as an accounting major or minor;
– Overall GPA of 3.0 or above;
– Letter grade of “B” or better in ACCT 217 – Principles of Financial Accounting or currently in process of completing;
– Letter grade of “B” or better in ECON 110 – Principles of Economics;
– Statement of interest;
– Letter of recommendation from non-accounting faculty;
– Resume.
The application form, a recommendation letter from a non-accounting faculty member and current resume must be submitted by the end of the day on Wed., Feb. 28 in order to be considered for the Accounting Fellows program. Instructions for submitting the recommendation letter and resume will be provided after completing the application form.
