Microsoft Online Training offered Jan. 21-28

As part of our volume licensing agreement with Microsoft, they’ll be offering free training for OWU faculty and staff on the next two Monday and Thursday mornings. Each session will be presented by Microsoft Training staff.

Each session will be from 10 to 11 a.m., unless otherwise noted, and a link to join the session will be provided.

Thursday 1/21 – Word:
Microsoft Word is part of the Microsoft 365 applications that can help you to:
o Create and format documents.
o Review work and track changes.
o Polish your words with proofreading tools.
o Save documents to various locations.

Monday 1/25 – Excel:
Intermediate overview of Microsoft Excel. This assumes the user already has an understanding of the basic
features of Excel, can navigate the application, and has a basic grasp on the use of functions.

2 p.m. Monday 1/25 – Windows 10:
(Rescheduled from 1/18.) Windows 10 is the best Windows ever, empowering users with a more personal, productive, and secure operating system on powerful and modern devices. While Windows 10 offers the same desktop users know and love, there are changes that are helpful to explore when moving to a modern desktop. This course will offer a brief introduction to Windows 10, explore navigation, and offer an open forum where users can ask questions about the transition to this operating system.

Thursday 1/28 – PowerPoint:
Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program that is helping you to tell a story visually with pictures, charts,
animations, and videos. This Training covers an introduction to PowerPoint, including:
o Ribbon.
o Build your presentation.
o Present with Captions and Subtitles.
o Presenter Coach.

Each of these sessions will include time for questions and answers.
