Our colleague Joe Murphy, director of the Center for Innovative Pedagogy at Kenyon College, would like to invite our faculty and/or staff to present at “Teaching and Learning Beyond 2020,” a virtual conference hosted by the Center, on Jan. 21 and 22, 2021.
This conference is an opportunity for participants to share the ways they have adapted their teaching to the challenges of the past year, hear about each other’s experiences in new teaching environments, and consider what practices they want to carry on when they return to more familiar modes of instruction.
The maximum time for a single presentation will be 20 minutes. They will also consider proposals for multi-presenter 1-hour panels and asynchronous poster presentations.
Please complete this form to submit your proposal to the conference planning committee: https://forms.gle/J5BkxoXswvNrAyP48
Deadline to submit is Friday, Dec. 18. Proposals submitted after this date may still be considered.
Examples of possible topics:
~ Breakout room activities
~ Socially distanced in-person instruction
~ Converting activities to an asynchronous format
~ Polling & quick assessment across the curriculum
~ Remote writing instruction and research assignments
~ Trauma-informed pedagogy
~ Adaptations for accessibility and inclusion
