Attention – All New Courses in Blackboard will Prompt to try Ultra

Instructors, when you enter your new summer or fall courses in Blackboard, you will now be prompted to “Try the Ultra Course View!”

This option provides a more modern, intuitive, fully responsive, course experience for both instructors and students. It also offers redesigned workflows and capabilities – and adds some new ones – to improve instructor and student efficiency and success. You have the option to convert your course to the Ultra Course View or to keep the Original Course View.

Through our fall ’18 pilot and general opt-in availability this spring, we’ve had 16 faculty use it for 46 courses. Over 400 students enrolled in these courses have also tried it, and they overwhelmingly prefer Ultra courses over Original.

If you choose to try it, you will be able to fully explore your Original course in the Ultra Preview before you switch to the Ultra Course View. You can also review a list of features and functions that change or won’t carry forward if you convert.

Information Services is happy to help with course conversion and learning the new interface. We recommend copying any course content from a previous course before converting. It’s also a good idea to ask textbook publishers if their integrated content works in Blackboard Ultra courses.
