Nov. 7 – Ireland: Forgotten Folklore

Ireland: Forgotten Folklore is a House of Linguistic Diversity house project about the interplay between the Irish language and the prevalence of folklore within the country. There was a time when Irish Gaelic was the most spoken language of the island, now it is only found as a hidden gem in towns along Ireland’s west coast. The takeover of English in this often forgotten country is a rich story about the eradication and subsequent revival of language and folklore.
