The Urban Bush Women seek to inspire artists, activists, audiences and communities through performances, education and community engagement. This interactive workshop is for students who have worked with communities other than their own. We especially encourage students who have taken part in one or more of OWU’s community service learning programs, alternative spring break trips or a Theory-to-Practice or Travel-Learning experience. Participants gain tools and methodologies for entering, building and exiting community, including navigating a variety of assumptions regarding community-based practices. This workshop is not a presentational how-to guide about community relations. It is a dialogic mapping of experience using tools that may include theater games, writing and movement exercises.
