Oct. 17 – Performance Nutrition: Bridging the Gap Between Athletes and the Average Adult

While many people don’t see themselves as athletes, there are lessons to be learned by translating nutrition interventions for athletes to the average adult – helping them to perform better in their chosen roles as recreational athlete, parent, employee, retiree and also in recovery from illness.

Dr. Steven Hertzler has worked with all of these populations during his 30-year nutrition career as a clinical dietitian, college professor, clinical nutrition researcher and industry expert. Join the HHK Department for a lecture where he’ll share insights on how performance nutrition research impacts not only the intended athletes, but also how that knowledge can improve the lives of everyday adults, and the challenges and rewards of working with these different populations.
