The Faculty-Student Committee currently has two vacancies! The role that students play on this committee is to offer input on issues from a student perspective.
General functions of the committee, as defined by the Faculty Handbook, are as follows:
1) To inform the campus community about assessment and assessment issues.
2) To offer assistance to academic departments and administrative units in the construction and implementation of assessment plans and assessment instruments.
3) To develop and implement, in consultation with academic departments and others, an assessment plan for our general education program.
4) To respond to the Higher Learning Commission’s initiatives regarding assessment. (The Higher Learning Commission is our regional accreditation agency).
5) To communicate in a timely manner with the Chairs of the Academic Policy Committee and the Committee on Teaching, Learning and Cross-Cultural Programs.
