Campus Operations Notification: The Jay Martin Soccer Complex parking lot will close at 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, and reopen on the evening of Monday, Oct. 5, following site preparation work to support the installation of solar canopies. Please plan accordingly. Limited parking will be available in the Meek Aquatics Center lot during this time.
Following the short-term lot closure, the soccer complex lot will remain on the previously announced closure and solar canopy installation schedule: Minimal lot closure on the evening of Nov. 13 and canopy installation from Nov. 16 to Feb. 16, 2027.
We understand that parking will be challenging during portions of the canopy installation, but the payoff is substantial: When the system starts producing power in fall 2027, it is expected to generate 8.2 million kilowatt-hours of clean, solar energy each year.
Thank you for your patience and support as we work to improve OWU.
