Your Privacy, Your Rights: Understanding FERPA at OWU

Did you know that as an OWU student, you have control over your own academic records? It’s thanks to a federal law called the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which protects the privacy of your student information.

This law gives you the right to:

Inspect and review your education records.
Request to amend records that you believe are inaccurate or misleading.
Control the disclosure of your records to others, including your parents or family.

If you would like to grant access to your education records to a parent, guardian, or other third party, you must provide your consent through this release form.
