Public Safety Advisory: Parking Enforcement

Don’t get a parking ticket! Please note that parking enforcement has begun on the residential campus. You will be ticketed if you:

  • Create your own spaces in residential lots or lawns. (These unofficial, unmarked spaces limit maneuverability and cause accidents.)
  • Park in accessibility spaces or other spaces reserved 24/7. (Students with state-issued accessibility placards – issued to you, not a relative – may use any accessibility space on campus.)
  • Park in spaces reserved for employees.
  • Park in fire lanes or other marked spaces.

If you haven’t applied for and received your 2026-2027 student parking pass, apply now. If you have a parking sticker and haven’t affixed it to the driver’s side of your vehicle’s rear window, do it today.

Full residential parking enforcement begins Sept. 2, 2026. Vehicles without a valid 2026 permit will begin receiving citations for parking in student spaces on this date.

See OWU’s parking information here for a comprehensive list of policies and procedures, including how to purchase a permit or appeal a citation. See how parking is zoned and where lots are located here.

Thank you for your time and attention.
