Power Up Your Passwords

Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Week 1 – Strong Passwords

Your password is the first line of defense for protecting your accounts and personal information. Weak passwords can be guessed or broken easily, putting your data at risk.

A strong password should be:

  • Long – at least 12 characters.
  • Unique – avoid reusing passwords across multiple accounts.
  • Unexpected – avoid personal info like birthdays, pet names, or “GoBishops.”

💡 Pro Tip: Try using a passphrase—a memorized secret consisting of a sequence of words or other text that’s easy for you to remember but hard for anyone else to guess.  For example, “Ialwayswantedtobeabishop!”

Your digital security starts with a strong password—make yours count.
