Join us for a conversation with Kate Passannante, Paper Conservator, ICA – Art Conservation. Kate will present on the techniques and processes used to conserve the 31 prints on view in Restore: Conserving Masterworks. Many pieces in the exhibit were in storage and infrequently exhibited due to condition concerns.
Kate received her M.A. in Art Conservation with a specialization in Works of Art on Paper from Northumbria University in England. During her graduate studies, Kate interned at the Hirayama Studio at the British Museum, where she learned the intricacies of East Asian works on paper and traditional scroll-mounting methods for broader application in conservation.
Prior to joining ICA – Art Conservation, Kate worked as a Conservator at Local Records program at the Office of the Secretary of State in Missouri and conserved records, documents, and maps for local government agencies.
