Spring Semester Test of the OWU ALERT Emergency Messaging System

On Feb. 5, Ohio Wesleyan will conduct the spring semester test of the OWU ALERT emergency notification system. The test will be sent to all registered alert recipients using the 911Cellular software system.

If you do not receive an expected text or CampusShield app message, please take the following steps to verify and, if needed, update your OWU ALERT enrollment information:

  • Students: Ensure that your cell phone number is correct in your official OWU student record. (If you need assistance, contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@owu.edu.) If you have parents and guardians who wish to receive emergency notifications, they should text the word OWUalertFamily (not case sensitive and no spaces between words) to 58843.
  • Faculty and staff: Ensure that your cell phone number is correct in ADP. If you have partners or spouses who wish to receive emergency notifications, they should text the word OWUalertPartner (not case sensitive and no spaces between words) to 58843.
  • All: If you have not downloaded the CampusShield app, download it now (Android) (iOS) for access to safety systems including OWU ALERT push notifications.

If you have other questions, please contact Sean Bolender @ srbolender@owu.edu or Cole Hatcher @ cehatche@owu.edu. Thank you for your time and attention.
