Buildings & Grounds is undertaking several capital improvement projects within the lower-level mechanical rooms of both the R.W. Corns Building and the Schimmel/Conrades Science Center. The work will improve the sustainability, reliability, and resiliency of heating systems within these buildings.
Beginning Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023:
- The west entrance of the Corns Building will be closed for construction activities. The entrance is expected to reopen at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2023. In the interim, please use the east entrance.
- The Schimmel/Conrades hallway on the lower level adjacent to the Science Center Café will be impacted by construction workers moving materials in and out of the mechanical room. This hallway activity will not occur between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to mitigate the impact on the café lunch service.
Beginning Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, parking spaces in the lot beside Corns and in Selby Stadium will be reserved for construction vehicles until the work is complete.
In general, construction activities will occur in the lower-level mechanical rooms of both buildings between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Every effort will be made to minimize noise, but there will be brief times of increased noise in connection with the lower-level work. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Brandi McCreary in the Buildings and Grounds Office.
Thank you for your time and attention.
