Sept. 22 @ Noon – Social Justice in Education Book Club

I’m Ellie Nichols, a senior studying middle childhood education and social justice. I am hosting a Social Justice in Education book study that is taking place every other week in Merrick during the lunch hour. Our next meeting is Sept. 22 from 12-1 p.m. in Merrick 201. All are welcome to attend!

Topics we will be covering include:

  • Culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogies
  • Revisionist history

  • Book banning/ culture wars happening in our schools

  • What a social justice lesson/ classroom looks like

We will be reading the book Everyday Antiracism by Mica Pollock. The book will be provided to attendees for free! While the book centers on education topics, all majors are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Please fill out the Google Form below if you are interested in attending the next meeting.
