Duties of the Biological Sciences Laboratory Assistant can include (but are not limited to): Helping to set up and break down Biology labs, washing labware, animal care, maintaining and cleaning fish tanks, cleaning field lab equipment, presenting public science outreach programs, assisting faculty members during BIOL 122 laboratory sections (if qualified), following health and safety guidelines. Details of animal care: providing day-to-day support for the feeding and housing of departmental invertebrates and fish. Animal care duties include checking/recording room temperature and humidity and making sure that filters, freezers, and refrigerators are operating correctly. PLEASE NOTE: For this position, at this time, we are hiring only rising sophomore or junior students with Federal Work Study Eligibility for the fiscal year 2023-2024, for work beginning in August 2023.
