Life for a songbird isn’t easy, and predation is the leading cause of nest failure across bird species. Join OWU senior Josie Fornara ’23 as she discusses various ways that birds deal with nest predation, from parental defense behaviors to choosing the ideal nest site. Josie has conducted research through OWU’s Summer Science Research Program (SSRP) and has funded her own independent research using a Theory-to-Practice Grant (TPG). In addition to learning about predator ecology, attendees of this event will learn how to get involved in research as an OWU student, as well as the rewards and challenges of undergraduate research. Questions? Feel free to contact Josie directly at jhfornar@owu.edu!
