The Bishop Backers Winter Community Day and Delaware Expo will return on Feb. 18, 2023, when the Battling Bishops men’s and women’s basketball teams take on the Hiram Terriers in a senior day doubleheader in Branch Rickey Arena. Admission is free for everyone with a canned food donation to support the Delaware County Hunger Alliance, a United Way of Delaware County initiative.
The day will begin at noon when the Delaware Expo opens in Gordon Field House to showcase local nonprofit organizations and businesses. The expo runs until 3:30 p.m.
During this year’s Bishop Backers celebration:
- Watch the Bishops battle Hiram. (The women’s game begins at 1 p.m. and the men’s game at 3 p.m.)
- Meet Columbus Zoo animals (1-2 p.m.)
- Enjoy YMCA children’s activities.
- Pet dogs from the Humane Society.
- Explore a fire safety house.
- Learn hands-on CPR from Delaware EMTs.
- Find community service opportunities.
- Enter a free raffle to win a big-screen TV.
- Participate in 50/50 raffles to benefit the Hunger Alliance.
