Hiring Writer to Help Tell OWU Connection Stories

The Office of University Communications is seeking a news writer and editor for 2022-2023. The intern will help to share the OWU story with internal and external audiences, focusing on the OWU Connection.

Duties may include conducting email and in-person interviews, writing news articles and press releases, taking photos and videos, and editing webpages using the BigTree content management system.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable writing and editing skills, with an interest in public relations and/or journalism. (All students who apply must supply 2-3 writing samples – links to online articles are fine – as part of their application packets.) An interest in photography/videography/social media and a knowledge of Associated Press style is a plus, but not required.

The internship pays minimum wage and requires a time commitment of at least six hours per week. More information is available in Handshake online.

To apply, please complete this application form and email writing samples, if online links are not available, to Cole Hatcher @ cehatche@owu.edu. Good luck!
