We are sad to share that former OWU staff member Terry Fortner of Sparta, Ohio, passed away July 26 at his home.
Terry joined Ohio Wesleyan in 1997 as a member of the housekeeping staff and worked at the University for more than 20 years.
According to his obituary: A man of faith, Terry was a longtime member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Mount Vernon. He often assisted (his wife) Karen with the children’s meal program and he played an integral part in getting beds for the church camp. Terry loved to be out tinkering in the barn and walking around Sparta. Often people joked with him about being the “Mayor of Sparta.” He loved being with his grandchildren and babysat them often.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. today and services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Apostolic Christian Church, 1635 Old Delaware Road, Mount Vernon.
