Are you interested in modern higher education and how it will change in the coming years? This fall, Provost Karlyn Crowley will be teaching a new, 0.25 unit course called UC 120: The Future of College.
This course is centered on fundamental questions about college in the modern age: What is college for and how do colleges operate? What are the biggest challenges faced by colleges today? What will college be like in 50 or 100 years?
This course will explore a range of topics including college costs, issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion; curricular trends; student life issues like mental health; admissions challenges (and even scandals); and the usefulness of the liberal arts.
This course will be taught simultaneously with the same course at Warren Wilson College; the two campuses and Provosts (Jay Roberts at Warren Wilson) will have several linked discussions and shared topics. If these topics sound interesting to you and if you want a chance to talk together about your hopes and dreams for Ohio Wesleyan, consider UC 120: The Future of College.
