We are sad to share that former OWU staff member Cathy Elaine Holland passed away Feb. 7 with family at her side. She was 65.
Cathy worked at Ohio Wesleyan for more than 27 years, serving first as an accounting clerk and later as a secretary in the areas of Student Engagement and Success, International and Off-Campus Programs, and the Registrar’s Office.
According to her obituary, “For being a quiet person, Cathy was bold in the spirit. She had a heart for God and for his people. … Cathy was very hospitable and was known to open her home to family and friends. Family was her everything, raising her 4 children by herself and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed flea marketing, flower gardening, cooking, and watching sports. Those close to her will remember her as the dedicated, caring, and sweet mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter that she was.” (And co-worker, too.)
Services will be held at noon Feb. 16 at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to noon that same day. Contributions in Cathy’s memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Delaware County at 305 Curtis Street, Delaware.
