Feb. 10 @ 1 PM – What’s New in WordPress

So much is new in WordPress, since we upgraded last fall!

Release 5.0 “Bebo” introduced the new block editor, known as Gutenberg until then.

5.1 “Betty” introduced Site Health.

5.8 “Tatum” let you manage widgets with blocks.

And 5.9 “Josephine” (released just last month) introduced full site editing.

This session will introduce these major new features, highlighted in three new themes. It will then be open Q&A. It’s a great opportunity to consider switching to the new editor or jump right in if you’re new to WordPress.

WordPress is open-source software for designing and building websites. Two popular local sites are

The OWU Daily (https://sites.owu.edu/daily/) and
The Oh-Wooo Help Desk (https://helpdesk.owu.edu/)

This session will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, Feb. 10, in Corns 109, and led by Instructional Technologist, David Soliday. Please see https://owu.edu/isprofdev to see what other technical training sessions are being offered.
