Ohio Wesleyan and the Delaware County Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee invite you to take part in two upcoming virtual events to remember King and celebrate his legacy.
- 4 p.m. Jan. 16 – Panel discussion of the film “FUNDI: The Story of Ella Baker,” focusing on the erasure of Black women in the Civil Rights Movement. According to the filmmakers, “By looking at the 1960s from the perspective of Baker, the ‘godmother of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee,’ FUNDI adds an essential understanding of the U.S. civil rights movement.” The documentary will not be screened as part of this free event, but is available from many libraries or for rent online. Scheduled panelists are Karriejoi Coit, Unity Community Center; Dr. Brianna Mack, OWU; Dr. Antron Mahoney, OWU (moderator); Ruchelle Pride, Unity Community Center; and Anna duSaire, OWU student. Reservations are required via owu.edu/MLK to attend the Zoom panel discussion.
