The Ross Museum opens again on the first day of classes with 2 new exhibits!
The works of 26 women photographers from the permanent collection of the Museum are featured in an exhibit titled “Women Behind The Lens”.
The online opening event will feature Carmen Winant, Professor of Art at Ohio State University and photographer, and Claire Wiedman, former Collections Manager at the Ross Art Museum in a joint discussion of the importance of women artists and philanthropists to the field of photography.

Also on view, photography by the Fall 2021 Distinguished Alumni Exhibitor, John Clark Mayden ’74, depicting Black life in the streets and neighborhoods of Baltimore, Maryland. “Baltimore Lives” His photographs have also appeared in Between the World and Me, the HBO adaptation of Ta-Nehisi Coates’ memoir about his youth in Baltimore.
