Building Inspections, Systems Tests Set to Continue July 7

We are continuing our annual summer building inspections and systems tests. These are required by the state and will be conducted throughout the summer. The tests will result in alarms sounding and strobe lights flashing. Evacuation is not required during testing times. Dates are approximate. 

Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression System Tests with Fire Alarm 6 am-4 pm. (Note: If pilot lights go out, please contact The Mechanical Shop at ext. # 3423.)

  • July 7: Smith Hall (start at 7 am, 2 hoods) and the following Williams Drive houses: 9, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 35.
  • July 8: Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, Stuyvesant Hall, and Haycock Hall/3D Arts building.
  • July 9: If needed to finish.

Note: These alarms will last only a few seconds. Haycock has 2, Ham-Wil has 5, Smith has 2, and the rest of the buildings have 1 alarm each. 

Fire Alarm System Tests and Inspections

  • July 14 through July 21: Haycock Hall, Meek Aquatics and Recreation Center, all Williams Drive houses (4, 9, 10, 15, 20, 23, 30, and 35), start SLU inspections.
  • July 22 through 30: SLUs (65 Oak Hill, 81 Oak Hill, 88 Oak Hill, 123 Oak Hill, 118 Rowland, 110 Rowland, 94 Rowland), Thomson Hall, Welch Hall, and Schimmel/Conrades Science Center.
