Smith Hall to Have Planned Power Outage June 14; Some Buildings to Lose OWU Phones, Internet, Wi-Fi

As part of its transformation into a first-year living and learning community, Smith Hall East and West will experience a planned power outage from approximately 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 14. The building’s emergency lighting will be fully connected during the outage as we prepare for our final site inspection.

While the power is off, OWU internet, Wi-Fi, and telephones will not be working in campus buildings located north of Oak Hill Avenue and west of Liberty Street. This includes Hayes Hall, Sanborn Hall, Smith Hall, Stuyvesant Hall, and the Citizens of the World House.

Also during the outage, the Smith Hall fire alarm may not function as normal. Call 911 immediately if you see any smoke or fire during this time.
