The Career Connection Intern promotes advertising efforts targeted to students regarding Career Connection’s events and services. This Intern will also meet with students for resume/cover letter review, drop-in career advising, and other basic career-related needs.
Responsibilities:
Marketing & Public Relations:
• Creatively develop and implement advertising campaigns for all Career Connection Events including career fairs, employer spotlights, bi-weekly newsletter, etc. This includes posting on Instagram, writing OWU Daily’s, and making Canva images.
• Represent Career Connection in a positive and professional manner while enthusiastically working toward solutions for OWU students.
Peer Coach (will receive training):
• Assist students in career resume/cover letter review and with basic drop-in questions.
• Develop a thorough understanding of career-related services and programs our office offers.
• Teach students how to sign up and use Handshake (our job and internship platform) during advising appointments
Qualifications:
1. Creative/Artistic skills− writing advertisements, creating posters, flyers, banners, and social media posts, etc.
2. Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, possess initiative, and have a strong motivation to complete projects.
3. Excellent communication skills; emphasis on writing and interpersonal skills.
4. Knowledge of Google Suite & Microsoft Word
5. Knowledge of Canva preferred
