Now Hiring Summer Digital Communications Intern

The Office of University Communications is seeking to hire a student who will be on campus this summer for a 30-hours-a-week internship as a Digital Communications Intern.

The intern will collaborate in a creative team environment to share the OWU story with external and internal audiences using the OWU website [owu.edu] as well as partner websites used for recruitment.

Potential Duties:

  • Auditing web pages for content quality and accuracy.
  • Writing new content and selecting photos for digital platforms.
  • Building new pages and features using the BigTree content management system.
  • Researching alumni outcomes.
  • Promoting The OWU Connection by researching, conducting interviews, and writing news articles and press releases.
  • Processing the OWU Daily and New at OWU weekly messages.

Required & Desired Skills:

  • Strong writing and spelling ability required.
  • Knowledge of Associated Press Style preferred.
  • An interest in website content development, as well as a demonstrable interest in writing for the web preferred.
  • Skills in photography and visual communication beneficial.

The intern will be trained in the website content management system (CMS), Gather Content platform, WordPress, and Resource Space photo archive.
