The annual Walk-A-Mile-In-Her-Shoes event can’t take place as usual this year because of COVID concerns. In the spirit of raising awareness, we invite you to take part in a *virtual* Walk A Moment wherever you are. In your neighborhood, at a local park, or on your treadmill, we challenge you to take part. You can even show support from your couch, if walking isn’t your cup of tea!
Walk-A-Mile-In-Her-Shoes is an annual event where folks stroll through downtown Delaware (and many communities throughout the nation) to raise awareness and show support to stop sexualized violence toward women. While it’s not required, many men who take part wear high heels. This year, we cannot gather to have an official event, but we are still walking on our own to support the idea that everyone has a right to a happy, healthy relationship!
So, take the challenge and Walk A Moment with us! Whether it be around the block, to your mailbox, or even if you choose to do a full mile as we’ve done in years past, let’s *virtually* Walk A Moment together and raise awareness for an important issue.
This year’s Walk a Moment challenge is open to everyone. You can participate any time from May 3-May 9. Take a picture or video of your walking moment and post it to: #WalkAMoment2021Challenge
You can also email your pics to us at: delcoprosecutor@co.delaware.oh.us and we will post them for you!
Are you up for the challenge? We look forward to *virtually* Walking a Moment with you!
