As you may have heard, OWU is teaming up with the Delaware Public Health District to get students a COVID-19 vaccine! For more information on the process of signing up for the first vaccination clinic on April 11, 2021 please see Dwayne Todd’s previous emails or email covid19@owu.edu. Please DO NOT contact the OWU Student Health Center about scheduling your vaccine because we are NOT administering them.
While this is all super exciting news, there are some common side effects that may come with receiving the vaccine. Pain, redness, and swelling is common around the site that you received the shot. In addition, other symptoms like fever, nausea, chills, and muscle aches are possible. See link to CDC website below for more information. Again, side effects from the vaccine are normal and should not deter you from getting your vaccine, but if you are experiencing symptoms out of the ordinary, feel free to call the health center at (740) 368-3160 or email health@owu.edu.
