The successful candidate for the OWU Connection Communications internship will gain marketable experience in writing publication-ready news articles and press releases as well as enhanced skills in identifying news, preparing for and conducting interviews, researching/verifying facts for publication, proofreading, photography, social media, web development, and related skills. Strong writing and spelling ability required. Knowledge of Associated Press Style preferred.
The successful candidate for the OWU Magazine Editorial Assistant internship will gain marketable career experience in journalism, creative writing, and editing and publishing. The student will complete the internship with a portfolio that includes published writing helpful for future job applications. A strong knowledge of spelling and grammar is required, and 3-5 writing samples must be submitted with this application. Courses or other experience in magazine or newswriting is helpful. Knowledge of the Associated Press Stylebook and familiarity with OWU Magazine are helpful. The magazine is online at owu.edu/magazine.
The successful candidate for the Senior Class Communications internship will gain will obtain marketable experience in event coordination, preparing for and conducting interviews, researching/verifying facts for video, photography, social media, web development, and related skills. (You do not need to be a senior to apply.)
First-Gen students are able to start applying for these positions beginning March 22. Eligible students are allowed to apply for up to three positions, and all applications are due by Tuesday, April 5, at 11:59 p.m.
