Joe Maloney

Joe Maloney, born in Massachusetts, currently works in both Massachusetts and New York City. Urban landscapes with an element of color is strong in his images. Color is sometimes inserted via a vintage dye transfer technique in the darkroom. Maloney found that after twenty years much of the color in his photographs faded. His disappointment led him to quit photography. In more recent years, he has been scanning his old negatives and printing with pigmented color to insert vibrant color into his historic images.
