Erica Lennard began her career as a photographer for prominent fashion and cultural magazines such as Elle, Vogue, and Rolling Stone. In 1976, she exhibited a portrait series of women at a gallery in Paris, which she developed into the book Women, Sisters. Since the 1980’s, Lennard’s photographs have depicted nature with a focus on gardens.
