Caleb Cain Marcus was born in Colorado and holds an MFA from the Columbia University School of the Arts. His photos draw the viewer in through the use of color, space and implied texture, some of which he adds in the darkroom or after. “He mixes two color spaces, digital and analogue to achieve the prints intensity of color and feeling (Caleb Cain Marcus, 2018).” Marcus is fascinated with describing the invisible qualities of nature and human life, helping us feel the space while viewing the photo. He has held several solo exhibitions including one at the Ross Art Museum in 2013. His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The High Museum of Atlanta and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Currently he works in New York City. Caleb Cain Marcus, (2018).
