Khara’s path to the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) began in bird conservation and OWU. The first 15 years of her career were spent working in California’s Central Valley creating habitats for migratory birds at two well-known non-profit organizations. Khara’s major skills included project management, budget development, engaging diverse audiences, media relations, writing and collaboration. Now, as an executive director, she oversees all aspects of the organization. Khara holds the big picture view to ensure OEFFA follows their mission, while tackling organizational needs and supporting staff in their development and growth.
She looks forward to being contacted by non-traditional students, as well as those interested in careers STEM by:
- Speaking with a student virtually or on the phone
- Presenting to a class in-person
- Presenting to a student organization
- Mentoring a student
- Assisting OWU Alumni (recent Alumni, or Alumni in transition)
- Serving as a resume-reviewer for OWU students and/or Alumni
- Hosting a “Career Trek/visit” with a group of students & OWU staff
During her time at Ohio Wesleyan University, Khara was a Zoology major and an Environmental Studies major. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.
