Hannah Cox ’24
Staff Environmental Scientist StantecBiography
Hannah earned her B.A. in Environmental Science from OWU in 2024 and began her role as a Staff Environmental Scientist at Stantec, a large consulting firm, in early 2025. Based in Santa Barbara County, CA, she specializes in field biology and works on a wide range of environmental projects throughout the region. Much of her work is hands-on and outdoors, where she conducts wildlife surveys and monitors habitats, with a focus on birds and freshwater systems. When she is not in the field, Hannah also analyzes proposed construction projects to assess potential impacts on biological resources and develops recommendations to avoid or minimize those impacts.
Hannah is excited to support students interested in environmental science/zoology, consulting, or fieldwork by sharing insights on career paths and navigating the transition from college to the professional world. She is especially happy to connect with first-generation students who may feel unsure about navigating college or exploring career paths.
Hannah is happy to assist in the following ways:
– Speaking with a student virtually or on the phone
– Presenting to a student organization
– Mentoring a student
– Serving as a resume-reviewer for OWU students and/or Alumni
– Participating in OWU events such as speed networking, mock interviewing, panels, etc.
