This can be related to your specific work on the project, or broader issues in the 10 readings we did to start the semester.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, I asked you to ponder the issues under <strong>Pearls of Wisdom<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.owu.edu\/sustainability-workblog\/2018\/01\/28\/week-3-update-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Week 3 Update 1<\/strong><\/a>: in particular &#8220;Some Solutions&#8221;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Social<\/strong>: use the power of social networks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Supportive<\/strong>: employ frames that support the message in a positive way.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Simple<\/strong>: environmentally friendly behaviors easy and convenient.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Story-based<\/strong>: meaning and community created by the power of stories.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Signals<\/strong>: use indicators for feedback on societal response.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>I will also pass along <strong>additional ideas<\/strong> as they pop into my head (or yours, if you share them with me). They should be worked into your Starting Point Document and related to the practical work in class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For this week consider these further issues:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have already discussed &#8220;Scrappy Sustainability&#8221; but what about:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Subliminal Sustainability<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Subversive Sustainability<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>How does <strong>Identity<\/strong> play out in issues you are confronting this semester?\n<ul>\n<li>example: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/jcr\/article-abstract\/43\/4\/567\/2630509\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Is Eco-Friendly Unmanly?&#8221;<\/a><span style=\"color: #444444\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Opportunities<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>co-taught interdisciplinary courses: what do students want?<\/li>\n<li>Alumni contacts (subversive?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444\"><strong>Individual Issues of Interest:<\/strong> in my comments on your starting point docs; follow-up on these in particular as the semester progresses.
