Camp Description
Our overnight camp emphasizes a balance between the development of performance skills, artistic knowledge, and creative process. All campers receive expert guidance from OWU faculty, experienced music teachers, and talented counselors as they take their musicianship to the next level.
The week concludes on Friday, July 10, 2020 with two Grand Finale ConcertsĀ in air-conditioned facilities, one for middle school ensembles and one for high school ensembles. Both concerts conclude with an all-combined camper performance of original music written exclusively for the the OWU Summer Music Camp.
Air-conditioned facilities are used for all rehearsals, classes, concerts, and residences. Additional daily activities include sectionals with camp counselors, supervised afternoon recreation time, meals in Smith dining hall, and evening all-camp music events.
Activity Selection
- Choose Your Large Ensemble
Students select one large performing ensemble for their age group and experience level in band, choir, or orchestra. - Choose Your Electives
Students will participate in four different music electives made up of performance activities and classes. - Private Lesson OptionĀ (additional $20 per lesson)
For students seeking one-on-one specialized instruction, a 30-minute lesson with applied music faculty is an extra opportunity. Lessons are available on voice and all ensemble instruments plus piano and guitar.

Camp Fees
Overnight Camp Package: $550
6 days, 5 nights, 15 meals, air-conditioned dormitory room, expert instruction, evening snack, recreation, and health care. Report for check-in on July 5, 2020 at 6 p.m.
Early bird registration = $525 if submitted by April 3, 2020!
Day Camp Package: $325
5 days, 10 meals, expert instruction, health care, and recreation. Daily check-in begins July 6, 2020 at 7:30 AM. Daily check-out is at 8 p.m.
