what end I will make of this walk<\/p>\n
which edge I will take for myself.<\/p>\n

Before one blue one gold<\/p>\n
I know two things.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The same that has held me open<\/p>\n
leaves me to see. Our brick<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
is cold, our shoes no longer fit.<\/p>\n
I woke crying out for what I wanted<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
over and over like it snowed.<\/p>\n
I was snow.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Looking hard at what has lasted<\/p>\n
it tears. It tears a little as I live.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
What do I remember<\/p>\n
that second eye waiting on me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
If I could say how I got here<\/p>\n
I would\u2014<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
so whiten these folded knees<\/p>\n
focus myself after stars<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
make crystal air where<\/p>\n
air was clear. I am<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
a brick walk, I am<\/p>\n
my own breath. Out those<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
windows snow<\/p>\n
more than we ever asked for<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
beyond what lamps we burned.<\/p>\n
I think about willing myself.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Always the question<\/p>\n
which eye you are looking out of<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
which you are looking into<\/p>\n
these moments we spend<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
locked or tossed<\/p>\n
