If your student is going to be a student-athlete at Ohio Wesleyan University, they are required to complete medical forms and procedures by the University and the NCAA. Students should have already received an email from their coaches concerning Sickle Cell Trait status. This is an NCAA requirement that needs to be completed prior to participation.<\/p>\n
Please read that email with your student thoroughly and have the testing completed over the summer prior to arriving on campus. Student-athletes will be receiving an invitation to join Healthy Roster in the middle of June to their OWU email accounts. Students should accept this invitation, as it will give them access to complete and submit all the forms for physicals and Sickle Cell Trait test results. STUDENTS SHOULD NOT COMPLETE ANY FORMS that are in the Healthy Roster account at this time. Any form students complete that is labeled \u201c2023-24\u201d will expire, and they will have to complete the form again.<\/p>\n
When the \u201c2024-25\u201d forms go “live” for completion, students will receive an email from coaches the week of July 8.\u00a0<\/sup> The email will include instructions for each form, how students should submit their Sickle Cell Trait results, and how to perform an ImPact baseline test for concussion management. The OWU Athletics’ Medical Team will perform pre-participation physical examinations at no charge once students arrive on campus.<\/p>\n
